What we collect
and why

BeCool  ·  Effective 31 October 2026  ·  Contact: support@bcol.cc

BeCool is an app for iPhone and iPad that lets you browse, save and generate wallpapers. This policy sets out what the app actually collects, who receives it, how long it is kept, and how you can withdraw consent or delete your account.

01What we collect

Listed below by purpose. Other than what is listed here, BeCool does not ask for camera, microphone or location permission — the only system permission the app uses is saving wallpapers to your photo library.

  • Account: the account identifier Apple returns to you when you sign in with Apple, and your email address if you choose to share it. If you bind an email address, we store it and its verification state so you can recover your account and restore membership across devices.
  • Content you submit: the images and captions of wallpapers you contribute, uploaded to our own server for review and display.
  • Image generation: the prompts you enter and the images generated, forwarded by our own server to the provider that supplies the model.
  • In-app purchases: Apple sends us transaction details — transaction identifier, product, amount and currency, purchase and expiry dates, and refund or revocation status. Payment credentials such as card numbers are handled by Apple; neither the app nor our server sees them.
  • Stability: crash stacks, device model, system version, app version, and the state of the app when the crash occurred.
  • Usage analytics: events for screens and features, session information, device and system identifiers, and a coarse region derived from IP address.
  • Experience analytics: interface interactions (taps, scrolling) and session replays, with input content masked before it is collected.
  • Advertising: with your consent, the advertising identifier, device information, coarse region, and ad interaction events.
  • Network diagnostics: failed requests and network information, used to investigate loading problems.

02What the data is used for

  • Signing you in, and restoring your saved wallpapers and purchased membership across devices.
  • Showing wallpaper content, and reviewing and publishing contributions.
  • Completing image generation requests and applying the daily allowance set by our server.
  • Deciding membership entitlement, restoring purchases, and handling renewals and refunds.
  • Finding crashes, understanding how features are used, and spotting interface problems.
  • Showing ads; ads stop once membership is active.

We do not track you across apps or websites. Ads are shown without cross-app measurement, and we never request tracking permission for it.

03Third-party providers

These providers handle the data listed above, each for a single purpose:

  • Google: Firebase Analytics (usage analytics), Firebase Crashlytics (crashes), AdMob and Google User Messaging Platform (ad delivery and consent management). AdMob's own crash collection is switched off by us; crashes go to Crashlytics only.
  • Microsoft: Clarity (session replay and experience analytics).
  • Apple: provides sign-in credentials and handles App Store purchases, renewals and refunds. The App Store sends renewal, refund and billing-retry results to our server, and we update your membership status from them.
  • Model provider for image generation: receives prompts forwarded by our server.

Server notifications: Apple sends renewal, refund and billing-retry results to our server so we can update your membership status. These are sent between Apple and our server; they do not change what we collect from your device.

These providers process data for us under their own terms, for the purposes listed on this page. Other than the cases above, we do not pass this data to anyone else for other purposes.

04Retention and deletion

Diagnostic content is kept for up to seven days. After the content is deleted, the event identifiers and fingerprints used for deduplication and receipts are kept for up to eight days from first receipt. We keep other data only as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected for. Contributions are kept until you delete them, and a deletion record is kept afterwards for audit and compliance.

To delete your account: open Me → Settings → Account Management in the app and complete Apple verification. Deletion removes your account, saved wallpapers in the cloud, recommendation activity and generation history, and revokes the Apple authorisation; it cannot be undone. We keep the minimum transaction records needed so that you can still restore paid membership if you register again with the same Apple sign-in identity.

Deleting your BeCool account does not cancel your Apple subscription. To stop being charged, cancel the subscription in your system subscription settings first.

05Withdrawing consent

  • Advertising consent: Settings → Ad privacy settings in the app lets you change or withdraw your earlier choice at any time.
  • Publishing contributions: choose not to publish when you contribute and nothing is uploaded; work already published can be deleted under My contributions.
  • Sign-in and data: signing out stops account-related syncing; see the section above for deleting your account.
  • Membership: cancel auto-renewal in your system subscription settings; the current period stays valid after you cancel.

06Children and changes

BeCool is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If this policy changes in a material way, we update the effective date at the top of this page.
